What this site is

The site is ReelTranscriber, published at reeltranscriber.com. The tool it hosts is the Instagram Transcript Generator — the name on the header of every page here.

There is exactly one page that does work, the home page, and three pages that explain it: this one, the privacy policy, and the contact page. That is the whole site.

What it does

You give it a video or audio file and it gives you back a transcript. The file is decoded and transcribed inside your own browser. There is no server in this site to upload to, no account to create, and no queue your file waits in.

The transcription model is Xenova/whisper-tiny.en, an English-only speech recognition model. Your browser downloads it once (about 44 MB including the runtime), caches it, and after that the page works with the network switched off.

Because everything runs on your device, the page cannot fetch an Instagram link for you — a static page is not allowed to read Instagram's audio. You save the Reel to your device first, then hand the file to the tool. The full measured limits are listed on the home page.

Who runs it

ReelTranscriber is an independent project, built and maintained under that name. There is no company behind it, no team, no investor, and no advertising network on board yet.

Everything published here is signed with the site name. That is on purpose: the site name is the only identity attached to this work, and it is the only name you will find on it.

What it costs

Using the tool costs nothing. There is no paid tier, no per-minute billing, and no account to upgrade, because the work happens on your own hardware rather than on a server that would have to be paid for by the minute.

The site may in future carry third-party advertising and affiliate links. When it does, that will be disclosed on the page and covered in the privacy policy.
